TO REGISTER FOR THE Basic OR ERC

To RESERVE your place in a class, you MUST register with the Motorcycle Safety Office BY MAIL. Space is only RESERVED UPON RECEIPT OF YOUR REGISTRATION FEE. Complete the registration form web page format or 2008 Registration Form pdf format or 2008 Registration Form Word document format listing first, second, third ... course choices. Although we try to accommodate your first choice some courses fill quickly. Mail the completed registration form with your $20 (per student) registration fee check or money order, payable to Illinois State University. Use separate forms (or sheets of paper) for other applicants. Your form must include your Drivers License number and current classifications! Incomplete forms will be returned and will not be processed!

Reschedule or cancel courses

Most courses are conducted as scheduled. Due to extreme weather conditions or variables beyond our control, some course times may need to be extended. Capital improvement projects, military emergencies, or unforeseen scheduling conflicts at our host sites may require us to reschedule or cancel an entire course. In these extreme cases, we will make every reasonable attempt to find alternative meeting times, dates and/or locations for affected students but cannot guarantee we will be able to accommodate everyone.

DEPOSITS/REFUND POLICY

You must attend the first class meeting on time to claim your reserved place. Registration fee refunds are sent to those who attend 50% or more of the course and complete the refund form. Refunds will be processed four to six weeks after the course is completed. Refund checks will be sent to the participant in the class.

TRANSFERS AND CANCELLATIONS

You may contact our office to transfer from one course to another (space available), but may do so only once without forfeiting your registration fee. Transfers or cancellations must be made at least 7 days before your scheduled class begins. Registration cancellations received at least 7 days before the course starting date will be fully refunded after the course is finished. To transfer or cancel your registration, call 800-322-7619 or 309-438-2352. You can not give or sell your registration to anyone else.

REGISTRATION CONFIRMATION

Once registered, you will receive a confirmation through the US Mail with your course reservation and directions to the training site. If you have not received your confirmation letter within 2 weeks, contact our office. If you are placed on a "waiting list," you MUST come to the first class meeting. There is an excellent chance of an opening for you. If there are no openings, call the office immediately to transfer or request a refund.
